Artist's Statement

I was born in San Francisco, California, December 5, 1953. As a child I was told that I had no talent and to give up my aspirations as an artist. I failed high school art in 1969. Five years later, I became a full time sculptor and have owned several galleries in Texas and New Mexico.

Although my sculptures are in collections worldwide and have been featured in magazines, books, and films, along with numerous awards, my most meaningful and rewarding experience was when a blind woman cried and told me that 'Shaman's Song' reminded her of her grandfather.

My art was given to me when I sat, heavy laden and discouraged, praying, "God, give me something that I can do and love for the rest of my life and will bring me closer to you". Going into my 34th year as a full time sculptor my love for my art carries this prayer, expressing my gratitude as well as reflecting pieces of my life's journey. My intention is to always share this answered prayer in all ways.
